Escape Trailer Industries has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2025 E17, E19, E21, and E5.0 recreational trailers. The spare tire carrier may have incorrect welding, which can cause the spare tire carrier to detach from the trailer.
A detached spare tire carrier can become a road hazard for other vehicles and increase the risk or crash or injury.
In the interest of safety, Escape Trailer Industries is providing a replacement spare tire carrier at no cost and is requesting that the currently installed carrier be replaced, regardless of its apparent condition. This replacement will take approximately 30 minutes.

- With the help of a second person (if needed), remove the spare tire.
- Using a ½” socket and wrench, remove the two (2) bolts that are at the base of the carrier, and which secure it to the bumper (see photo #1)
- NOTE: there will be a nut on the underside of each bolt that will need to be secured with a ½” wrench.
